A most unusual tropical, evergreen shrub with large, corrugated, heart-shaped leaves and spectacularly lovely flowers. This is best grown up a pillar or other support in a conservatory and must not be allowed to go below 12C. Sun or part shade but not direct sun if under glass. May produce blue bean-like fruits in autumn. Fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Keep on the dry side in winter.
